A Well Organized Event of Women’s Initiative
Event Date: October 2, 2006
About 75 women, men and their children of African origin met in the auditorium of the St. John’s Episcopal Church for a special event known as the Women’s Initiative. Co-sponsoring of this program were the Law Students of Washington University, the Campus kitchen of the St. Louis University and the St. Nicholas Ladies Church charity.
The Law Students of Washington University addressed the refugee groups about their General Rights and Duties in the Landlord/ Tenant Relationship. It was an informative lesson and a booklets and pamphlets were given to those who can read and understand English language. Translators were translating from English to Somali, Swahili and Amharic languages. The St. Louis University Campus Kitchen groups served delicious lunch to the program participants. Clothes, shoes, utensils, and
children toys donated by the Greek Orthodox Church were distributed among refuges in the auditorium.

to the International Institute of St. Louis on another successful event!.
It was fantastic, the art, the music, the dancers and the international food.

the Committee on Conscience, which guides the genocide prevention efforts of the
